16 – Photo timeline (kinda)

Just thought I’d throw some photos from life up, mostly in chronological order, with some commentary.

Here we see me and my Dad. Not sure of age exactly, but not long after I came into the world. That’s the kind of support he gives, great big hands holding on to me. 🙂

This is me in 1974, age 2, with my Mom. For those of you who say I look like my Mom, she’s much prettier.

These three photos are all around the same time. I think I might be 4 here. As you can see, I had fairly long hair. I don’t think I liked having it cut. And the middle photo is one of only a couple I have where I’m wearing one of Grandma’s wigs. The first of the 3 is me with my Grandpa. I can still smell that chair in my mind. I’m really not sure WHAT I’m doing in the third photo. Dancing maybe.

Age 7 or 8 here. Long hair gone, replaced with medium length. I hated having my ears show, and this was the start of me wearing my hair in a part, that lasted until about the last year of high school (where I had a flat top).

My very manly pose at Peace Arch Park. I still have great legs. 😉

I’m saving your eyes by not posting the very first ‘Jessica’ photos. Suffice to say they are horrible. This is very close to that time though. Maybe 6 people know about Jessica when this photo was taken. The dress belonged to a very close, height challenged friend. Love you!

My very first Hallowe’en. This dress was made by my Mom. Not pictured is the chainmail that a very close male friend made for me – a choker and a belt. The cleavage was made by using tape – and as I mentioned in a previous entry, became very painful at around the 4 hour mark. This was the outfit that got me the, ‘That’s a guy! I think.” comment.

Another couple shots from when I was starting online dating. These were taken by one responder, it didn’t go very far. This was also the start of my fascination with having my ears show instead of being hidden. I still think it’s cute damnit.

Two more Hallowe’en shots. The top one is where I went as a school teacher, and Teresa went as a school girl. I’m not allowed to show that photo – I like living. 🙂 Bottom one was from just this last Hallowe’en (2014). I think other than the colouring being a bit yellowing, shows how far I’ve come with makeup.

This is a photo I submitted to Rock 101 trying to win Aerosmith tickets. Obviously it was a dude looks like a lady contest. I was hoping the legs would at least get me some votes.

Various looks from over the years. These were some of my (and Teresa’s) favourites.

This was my first day out not on Hallowe’en. It was still a bit of a cop out though, as we went to the Taboo show at Canada Place. Still, I was proud of my progress at being out in daylight. We went for coffee and shopping too – I bought the jacket at Long Tall Sally.

Lastly, my recent makeover. I still think this is by far the best I have looked. Since this makeover, I’ve been a lot better with my own makeup, but I’m still making do with the products I have (money is tight) so I can’t quite get the same effect yet.

So there you have it. There are a lot of gaps, but none of the photos from those gaps were really relevant for what I was going for with this. I was trying to find ‘jessica’ in the early photos, and I think I did to a certain extent. And with the later photos, was just trying to show my progression from ugly duckling, to not ugly.

Hope you enjoyed,

– Jess

    • Thank you so much! Unfortunately, the wife doesn't think it's the greatest. Mind you, she thinks the current photo is too provocative as well. Something about the pose.
