The time is fast approaching where I get to be me for as many days in a row as I want/am able. I am going for laser hair removal tomorrow at noon (face and neck), then I have 2 days to heal. Unfortunately, I have a lot of grey hair on my face and neck, and the laser won’t do anything to those, so I will still have to shave. Not happy about that, but I knew about it already. I’ll have to get electrolysis after the laser treatment (5 months from now, minimum). On the plus side, it should only be white/grey hairs left, so they won’t be visible even if I don’t get a REALLY close shave.
I am so looking forward to being able to just exist. Teresa has several chores around home I need to do, and will do so happily as myself. I will also have the opportunity to meet a lot of the rest of the family at various functions,
This will be the first time I’ve gone more than about 16 hours without reverting back to ‘boy’. I’m sure I’m going to learn a lot about myself in this time. I’m already discovering how uncomfortable wearing a bra can be. Wigs can be unpleasant at times too, especially if it’s hot. The silicone breast forms I use can get clammy and heavy. I always thought there was no way I’d wear PJs, I was always a nightie kind of girl. Well, I’ve been wearing PJs around the house for the last few weeks.
Unless I can’t possibly be comfortable with how I look (due to facial hair mostly), I will not revert at any point (other than the shower I guess *sigh*) to boy mode, for the course of 7 days. I’m hoping to go more than that, but we’ll see.
Teresa wanted me to start doing a daily selfie for the next year (plus) starting with tomorrow (first procedure on way to transition). I’ll do a before and after for days like tomorrow, rest of the time, just a single shot. I’ll try to be in the same pose/lighting for each. It should make for a very interesting time line. Could probably stitch it into a video when done too. Don’t worry, I won’t post it every day. Ppphhhtttt.
The second Christmas thing I’m going to is an appetizer party at my cousin’s. This is where I’ll be wearing my new black dress and heels. Should be interesting, it definitely won’t be a casual look, and we’ll see how long I can be comfortable in the heels. 🙂
Then comes dinner at my Mom’s. This will be way more casual, but hopefully will feel warm and cozy. All the siblings should be there, and significant others.
Then on boxing day, there’s another function at my Grandpa’s house.
And finally my Dad’s on the 28th. This will be emotional for me I’m sure. The others will be too, but this one a bit more so. Less people, but it will be my Dad’s first in person meeting with Jess. Looking forward to it very much.
So anyway, as I get busier and busier over the holidays here, I may not write as much, and pretty sure they won’t be deeply moving or meaningful. 🙂
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Seasons Greetings, Happy Winter Solstice, Happy Kwanzaa, and a festive cheer to you in any capacity!
Lots of love, thanks for reading,
Jess <3
